Here’s the second installment of our God-knows-how-many-parts special!
Quoting le moi:
A certain amount of people have submitted us their works of art — in the form of desktops, of course. These people obviously spent a lot of time tweaking their Rainmeters and Rocketdocks in order to impress their friends, lovers, classmates, college professors, workmates, rivals, or even worse: an anonymous brain-eating crowd from the abysmal bowels of the world wide web (okay, I exaggerated) with their cool, if not, awesome desktops.
As you guys can already see on the slideshow above, we have more (and not to mention, COOLER) entries this time. Just like one the last time, I will describe each one of the entries and tell you how exactly did I consider them to be fitting to be featured in this post.
Let’s start off with last time’s favorite, Kazuki Ouma. Just like before, this dude came up with something that I like: not too colorful, not too plain, a cool wallpaper, and a cool set of nicely arranged rainmeters. He and I share this fandom for RSS readers — notice how they fit perfectly on the corners, nice eh? The element of “completeness” is still here — again, just like last time. Overall, Kazuki deserves a praise for another job well done.
Here’s sth from somebody new. I found Chiara’s Pokemon Theme praise-worthy since she exemplified the ability to “fuse the wallpaper and the rainmeter skins” — in other words, she made it look like the rainmeter skins are part of the wallpaper itself, which is sort of tricky to pull off. One must have a good eye for both (wallies and skins) to make this possible. Also notice the number of skins she used — which isn’t really much compared to most but she still managed to create something that can make an impression.
Chiara also shared her resources for her desktop. Here:
-wallpaper made by Chiara(not the main artwork, obviously)
-midnightBiro’s cpu
-Token Rainmeter’s network
-Simplesentencethree’s sun and music
-Razor’s notes (with fading)
-Persona 4 HUD Rainmeter Skin
-GeoSans Rainmeter Skin’s G drive (with fading)
-CurvedExtSkin v.1.01′s ram
-Pokecenter Start Orb made by your Paiseh
-7UR iConPack’s icons
and finally using LClock instead of the default one in the taskbar, and (not seen) both Fences and Rocketdock to organize and hide all the other icons.
First of all, I would like to apologize to Keong-san for the weird title for her work. Like most of us here in TheProject, I’m bad with titles. Anyway, what makes Keong-san’s desktop theme praise worthy are the rainmeter skins she used — take a good look, most of them are THE DEFAULT SKINS, yow. I received a lot of desktop submissions, some of them have tons of random rainmeter skins, yet this pwn’d them with ENIGMA (sounds familiar? OF COURSE IT DOES!). Just like the other featured desktops, it’s got a nice wallpaper and nicely arranged rainmeters — and that’s about it. *bow*
BRS Theme by Yujiro Suzuki
Here’s a BRS Themed desktop from another fresh face (though you can’t see it/him), Yujiro. His desktop — just like the others — features well placed skins. I would like to stress that he did a good job on his dock. Though, I do admit that Yujiro could still improve this theme by doing a little coding and editing — he could’ve changed the fonts to make everything a little more consistent. Overall, though this theme could use a little bit of more work, it still stood out among the other desktop submissions we’ve received. Good work, Yuji-san.
Now, we have a couple of comebacks from Elijah — who previously submitted his work entitled “Blue Time” which was known for the overload of clock skins. In his Yandere theme tho, instead of clocks, he bombarded his desktop with dock, RSS and system reader skins.
Now for his hits and misses.
On this theme, Elijah had a really good eye for skins — most of his choices were good ones. The skin arrangement is sort of okay. And yes, I would have to admit that even though it’s creepy, I find the wallpaper pretty cool too. Though again, just like Yujiro’s BRS theme above, the theme could still be improved by doing a little code editing to change some of the fonts of some rainmeters. Another thing that he could’ve done was to also change some of the color values of some parts of some skins to match the wallpaper/theme.
Overall, regardless of the criticism Elijah’s 2nd submission received, it still made it’s way to my list of favorites for this batch. Great job, Elijah.
Elijah has done it again with his Limbo theme. I will describe it as briefly as possible by awarding it with this batch’s “Cutest Creepy Cool and-not-to-mention-messy-but-isn’t-really-a-bad-thing Award”. Click to zoom in to see what I mean. Once again, great job!
Saving the best desktop theme for last, I present Aditya Nugraha Pradhana’s GUMI theme. Would you guys believe me if I told you that I was actually envious of Adit for coming up with this theme? Regardless of what you think, with heartfelt sincerity, I have to admit that I was indeed very impressed and envious (AND YOU SHOULD BE TOO). It’s simple, it’s dark and all I could ever suggest to make this whole thing better is for Adit to add a really nice music player rainmeter skin — or not. It’s also possible that it’s better left untouched. lol. Epic job, man. You deserve all the praise.
Mr. Adit was generous enough to share his sources for his desktop theme btw.
Skins used:
Date & Clock from Elegance2
Malice Tab
Wallpaper can be found here.

That wraps up batch two. If you missed batch one, here’s the link right here.
Again, to all the people who willingly let us “show off”, criticize, praise and feature their desktop themes/screenshots, thank you so much!
Quoting le moi again:
People are still welcome to submit newer and better stuff! For those who haven’t tried submitting their desktop screenshots yet, may this second post encourage you to be creative and eventually give you the urge to show off your work of art via TheBlackListProject. Check out our announcements for details!
Btw, I decided to make these specials a monthly thing. So watch out for next month’s post! Keep those submissions coming! Though, I apologize in advance if I can’t really attend/reply immediately — being busy with college and all — but I make sure I will, eventually.
But yeah, ’til next time. Ta~ta~

Hey, I like the random vocaloid girl desktop, can you gimme the link to the rainmeter themes that you use and the wallpaper?
